FAQs

  • What happens in a therapy session?

During the initial session, your therapist will spend time getting to know you, allowing you to get to know them, and establishing your goals for therapy. Follow up sessions are spent assessing your symptoms and learning new coping strategies to help reduce your distress and decrease your symptoms. You will also review the work you completed toward your long-term goals during the previous week, and set small, new ones to work toward.

  • Why do you have a private pay rate?

Life Chats has a private pay rate for the following reasons:

    1. Insurance is unpredictable in terms of whether it will cover your therapy services.

    2. Insurance often limits the number of sessions you are eligible to receive regardless of how many sessions you need or how much you need them.

    3. Insurance makes therapists provide a mental health diagnosis. This diagnosis becomes a part of your permanent medical record.

    4. Avoiding insurance provides further privacy and anonymity.

    5. Private pay allows you to have individualized care, tailored to you.
